Lisa M Howard

Lisa's intuitive understanding of human connection and development has been honed over a lifetime of experience, education, and practice. Dedicated to her own self-study and growth, she is deeply committed to helping others learn and grow. Grounded in experiential learning methodology and trained in presence-based practices, Lisa uses an inquiry-based approach that facilitates personal choice and empowers clients to discover a sense of agency and clarity as they find the answers and guidance within.Lisa's journey to leadership coaching began at a young age; growing up on a dairy farm in Lancaster, PA and participating in youth leadership and development activities such as 4-H, Pony Club, and Soccer. By age 13, she was babysitting regularly and discovered a natural affinity for guiding and connecting with children. This lead her to pursue Special Education, where she spent the first decade of her career and learned some of the longest lasting lessons in human connection and development. Through her time as a teacher Lisa became known for her calm and steady manner in times of struggle, and her high expectations of growth for both herself and her students.As she continued to pursue her own educational path, she discovered the field of Adventure Education via Project Adventure, Inc. and was instantly hooked by the fun, dynamic, socially empowering approach to learning. She started as a trainer & consultant for Project Adventure in 2011 and became known for her open, welcoming presence, dynamic teaching style, and her ability to make learning themes accessible and applicable to daily life. Since that time she has traveled extensively training other educators in an Adventure-based approach to teaching emotional intelligence in the classroom and using that same approach to develop and facilitate transformational leadership and team development experiences in schools, businesses, therapeutic, and retreat settings.Lisa is part of the faculty at Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health, teaching workshops and guiding Mindful Outdoor Experiences. She is also a contract trainer with High 5 Adventure and a leadership development facilitator with University of New Hampshire's Browne Center for Innovative Learning.Lisa resides in Western MA where she enjoys hiking, yoga, meditation, rock climbing, SUP, and deepening her knowledge of plants, trees, and local landscapes.

What is Coaching?

A coaching session with Lisa is a refuge where you can access greater calm and clarity so that choice and change become possible.Each of us brings a wealth of resources along with a host of challenges, including ones we create for ourselves. Coaching helps you sort through the struggle to find out what you can change, and then create a plan to do so.In coaching we get centered in purpose, we practice self-observation and deepening intuition, and we learn to access the power and presence needed to show up with poise and determination in the most uncertain times.In our coaching sessions we:

  • Express ourselves honestly in a compassionate space

  • Deepen our presence to access the intuitive wisdom of our bodies

  • Navigate through the stories to find what is true and most important

  • Identify limitations or barriers and find clear action steps to overcome

How does it work?

Coaching is a partnership between coach and client, we work together throughout the entire process. Key components include:

  • Initial discovery session to determine fit and alignment

  • Choose a package for a specific time period and desired outcomes or create a customized coaching agreement

  • Attend scheduled sessions and commit to goals and fieldwork

  • Options for referrals, follow-ups, and package renewal upon completion.
